Stretch yourself !

YOGA

I have been teaching yoga for 20 years and practising for many more.

I love what I do! Connecting with people who are looking for an authentic yoga experience that adds real value to your life.

ANAHATA, is the Heart Chakra - the centre of our being and wellspring of life.

These practices help to bring us back to the natural intelligence of the body and breath and re-set the nervous system. You naturally develop strength and vitality in your body mind and emotions. Practice invites us to 'be here now' and participate more fully in life with a quality of presence, instead of being at the mercy of the chatter of our restless minds. There can be an immense relief in finding peace within yourself that many people describe as 'coming home'. Being YOU and realising you can stop searching for something to improve yourself - after all you are already the power and beauty of the cosmos!

  • Yoga that's right for your body and age

  • Re-kindling energy and enthusiasm

  • Connecting with your natural peace

  • Deepening your relationship with yourself

  • An experienced and caring teacher

The root meaning of the word yoga is "to integrate" all of our aspects - physical, psychological, emotional and social.  The deepest state within us is already integration, but our minds overshadow that clarity. The practices of yoga help to clear our often troubled minds and develop awareness of our biased perception that causes suffering.

We might come to yoga to help our bad back, reduce our stress levels or find a way to calm our over-busy minds and yoga can help with all of that and more. But due to the nature of the practice, we might find ourselves on a pathway to the discovery and realisation of much more!

Based in Crowborough, East Sussex, these are warm and welcoming with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Each term has a theme or area of learning, so that we can further our understanding of yoga and explore the experience within ourselves.

Postures are done slowly and mindfully and led by the breath.

You don’t need to be flexible ,or even touch your toes! This is real yoga for real people and all are welcome with years of experience or none at all.

Yoga classes are 75 minutes to allow time for

  • asana/ yoga postures,

  • relaxation or yoga Nidra,

  • pramayama/breathing practices, and

  • meditation

Importantly the yoga practice is for the breath, this has many health benefits, informs our movement and provides focus and refinement.

Yoga is not about self-improvement or making ourselves better.  It is a process of deconstructing all the barriers we may have erected that prevent us from having an authentic connection with ourselves and with the world.  This tenet is an extremely important one because the effort to change and improve ourselves is fraught with the risk of subtle self-aggression that only produces more unhappiness.  We cannot strive toward something that we already are.
