Hello -
I'm Julie and it's great to meet you!

If you're around Crowborough in East Sussex, and you've got aches and pains in your back, neck or shoulders - come and see me and get a fabulous treatment, tailored just for you and start your recovery!

Who do I work with?

I love working with active people over 40, who are struggling with back, neck or shoulder pain that isn’t getting better on it’s own – because I have been here too and it is SOOO…wearing and frustrating!

This isn't your average massage...

Has your experience of massage been like mine?

I find that massages tend to be EITHER… a spa type massage – quite relaxing but no real lasting benefits, OR…a sports massage which is specific, but the pressure can be painful, only the affected area gets massaged and you’re out in 40 minutes flat with no opportunity to relax!

What's different at Anahata?

This is an outcome focused approach, that’s also fully holistic. As an experienced Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist and Mindfulness Teacher I can also give a lot of 'added value' to the treatments. I offer a quality bodywork that incorporates a mindful, blissful and deeply relaxing approach with effective clinical outcomes.

I also TAKE …  TIME…to listen to you and find out about you and your life and the factors that might be contributing to the problem so that we make lasting improvements.

My unique signature treatment

Incorporates a wonderful relaxing approach, the penetrating heat of hot stones and a ‘listening touch’, so that I can access deeper areas of tension and 'really hit the spot!'

The outcome

Through my massage and holistic therapies, I help you to… reduce pain, move more freely and sleep better. So, that you become calmer & brighter again, get your MO-JO back and have more confidence in your body and being active!

What's my story and what do I add that's special?

I have extensive experience as a teacher and therapist. I started practicing yoga when I was 16, studied for a degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy and began teaching yoga in 2004. I have led numerous classes, courses and workshops, international yoga holidays and retreats. I have taught mindfulness and yoga in schools, colleges and businesses and trained and supervised mindfulness teachers working in corporate settings. I also have extensive experience as a Yoga Therapist, helping people recover from, or manage, chronic health conditions.

Many years of practicing yoga and mindfulness have helped me to cultivate a calm and caring presence in my treatments and hold that space for you

So, however scrambled or tense you feel when you arrive, the space and treatment will help you to release worries, burdens and tension and access a felt sense of balance, peace and stillness.

I'm a really active person myself and I love the outdoors, the mountains, our garden and walking our dog Bertie on the Ashdown Forest!

My own injuries have led me to seek good quality body work and that’s how I discovered the incredible Jing Institute and decided to train as an Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist adding this skillset to my existing health offerings.

I am a member of the Sports Massage Association and British Wheel of Yoga and I work to the highest standards and am fully insured. So you can be rest assured that you are in safe and professional hands when you visit.

You are worth

the quiet moment.

You are worth

the deeper breath.

You are worth

the time it takes

to slow down,

be still

and rest.
